What is the Green Sea Peel?
The Green Sea Peel is a professional-grade, natural skin resurfacing treatment that uses microscopic spicules derived from marine sea sponges to create a controlled microchanneling effect in the skin. Often called bioneedling, it’s similar in principle to microneedling, but results are achieved entirely through a topical product and massage technique.
What’s the difference between the Green Sea Peel and a chemical peel?
The Green Sea Peel works through mechanical micro-penetration where the spicules physically embed into the upper layers of the skin during the massage phase, creating hundreds of thousands of microscopic channels whereas chemical peels work by dissolving the bonds between dead cells using acids.
What are the benefits of a Green Sea Peel?
- Resurface the skin while stimulating collagen and elastin
- Removes sebum plugs and helps regulate sebum production
- Improves hyperpigmentation including melasma
- Safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types
- Safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Does not contain AHA or BHA’s
What can I expect during a Green Sea Peel treatment and immediately after?
A prickling sensation while the peel is activated is to be expected as the spicules penetrate the skin’s surface. As the peel is massaged into the skin, it’s often described as a feeling of fine sandpaper grazing the skin. The spicules remain embedded in the epidermis for approximately 24-72 hours, gradually dissolving and releasing a poly-pharmacy of marine nutrients while also increasing blood flow which has an oxygenating effect and stimulates collagen production. Redness of the skin is normal. Expect the skin to get progressively more red within the first 24 hours.
Day 1-2
A prickling sensation is normal for up to 48 hours after treatment. Dry, sandy feeling skin is also to be expected.
Day 3-5
Prickling sensation subsides and skin starts to flake
Day 6-7
Less peeling and glowing skin
How should I take care of my skin after a Green Sea Peel?
Post-treatment care directly impacts the results!
THE FIRST 24 HOURS
Do not cleanse, apply moisturizer or SPF for best results.
AVOID EXERCISE AND EXCESSIVE HEAT
For the first 72 hours it’s important to not do anything which would heat the internal body temperature (e.g., sauna, exercising, and hot showers)
DO NOT PICK OR PEEL
Do not pick or peel any skin during the peeling process. Doing so may cause PIH (Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation) and risks scarring
PROTECT
Stay out of the sun and protect the skin by applying a barrier-protective moisturizer and SPF50+ daily
Can I wear makeup after a Green Sea Peel?
Avoid makeup for at least 24-48 hours post-treatment to allow the spicules to work unobstructed. Once peeling begins, mineral or powder makeup can be used if necessary. Liquid foundations may interfere with the peeling process and should be avoided until peeling is fully complete.
How many Green Sea Peel treatments will I need?
After a single Green Sea Peel treatment, patients will typically notice improved skin texture and smoothness, visibly brighter and more even skin tone, reduction in the appearance of surface scarring and more refined-looking pores. For more significant concerns like acne scarring, deep texture issues, or persistent pigmentation a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart delivers cumulative results that build with each session.

If you have any of the following conditions, the Green Sea Peel is not recommended
